Hey everyone!
As many of you know, several years ago, my brother went home to be with the Lord. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was in my car, and a national minister was ministering on the radio. He began to unfold truths in the Scriptures. As I was listening, he came upon the topic of caring for the widows. As I drove and listened, it began to dawn on me, “Anna, you have a sister-in-law who is a widow!” “Da!” You may say! And I agree! Da! Where have I been?
I then instantly drew up James 1:27 within my heart, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”
I thought, “oh my goodness! The widow! What have I done to visit the widow?” And then as the days progressed, I began to let this ‘burden’ (a good one!) stir and stir on the inside of me. To where, now, I must put action behind the unction.
I would like ADM to somehow do something for the widows. I don’t know what exactly. This is where maybe you come in. I would love to hear some constructive ideas of ‘what we can do’! Perhaps you know of someone who is a widow, and you can ask her, “What is something (besides God Himself), that you could receive that would help to bring you comfort?” A basket containing a worship CD, a devotional book, flowers, other phone numbers of maybe a network or support group…..I am just thinking out loud….
This does not have to done overnight. I would like to see it have a beginning however and watch it grow. Grow to help the many out there who are now on their own, and would just LOVE to know that someone is listening and wants to help. You may think, “Anna, what in the world is a puny basket going to do….” Well, all I know is it is a beginning, and Jesus took the boy’s puny lunch and multiplied it to feed 5,000 people. It is a start…
If you would like to be involved in something of this nature, I would love for you to contact me. Maybe for Christmas, we can put together a wonderful basket of ‘goodies’ for our precious, special women.
Love to you all,
Anna
